Plan a Field Trip
Program Outline: Students are divided into small groups to allow each student multiple opportunities for hands-on practice. The groups cycle through different learning stations, each introducing vocabulary and objects through demonstration and participation to support an idea or process. Groups generally rotate through three or four learning stations based on age and grade. Some of the learning stations are:
Frame Design
Steam Bending
Trunnel Making
Simple Machines
Lofting
Schoolhouse Scavenger Hunt
Visit to the Old Burying Ground
The Museum requires a chaperone for every ten school age children. Chaperones/teachers are not charged admission.
A two hour visit is $9.00 per child for groups of 52 students or fewer. Museum memberships and passes are not valid for field trips. Please contact the Education Coordinator for groups of more than 52 students.
