Where hands-on learning meets the real world.
We use shipbuilding, environmental science, and historic trades to help students explore engineering, ecology, design, and community connection. Our field-based programs are grounded in place, driven by curiosity, and tailored to meet learners where they are.
We Offer:
STEAM-aligned field trips for K–12 students
Station-based, interactive learning focused on science, history, engineering, and teamwork
Environmental education with topics like invasive species, marsh ecology, and climate adaptation
Internships in museum collections, archives, and hands-on preservation
Career exploration in traditional trades, museum work, and marine industries
Custom programs for homeschool groups, clubs, and alternative education settings
Our programs support curiosity, confidence, and collaboration. We’re proud to offer inclusive, place-based learning rooted in the Essex River, its culture, and its future.
