The Trunnel Shed Preservation Project
THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS!
An Important Piece of Shipyard History in Need of Preservation
Our trunnel shed was brought into the shipyard by Dana Story in the 1940’s for use as a paint shed. Since then, it has been used to store paint and clean brushes, carve and finish hunting decoys, and has served as the home to our trunnel making and caulking exhibits. The trunnel shed has welcomed thousands of visitors and students, and is a keystone of our education programs. The building itself, however, is in dire need of repair - the intervening decades have taken their toll and it is ready for sympathetic, preservation-minded repair.
